Job description

We are urgently in need of an experienced Thai Chef with at least 2 years of experience to join our restaurant team. If you enjoy cooking authentic Thai food and working in a fast-paced kitchen, we would love to hear from you!

Location: Thai Bite Restaurant: 2010 Trim Rd., Unit #6, Orleans, Ontario K4A 0G4
Position: Chef (Specialization in Thai Cuisine)
Salary: $36/hour
Hours: 30–40 hours per week
(Morning, Day, Evening, Weekend, Shift, Flexible hours)

Requirements

Education:
Secondary (high) school graduation certificate

Experience:
2 years to less than 3 years

Credentials:
Safe Food Handling certificate

Experience and specialization:
Thai cuisine or equivalent experience preferred

Language: English, Speaking Thai is an asset

Responsibilities & Duties:
*Estimate amount and costs of supplies and food items
*Maintain records of food costs, consumption, sales and inventory
*Analyze operating costs and other data
*Demonstrate new cooking techniques and new equipment to cooking staff
*Supervise activities of specialist chefs, chefs, cooks and other kitchen workers
*Create new recipes
*Instruct cooks in preparation, cooking, garnishing and presentation of food
*Supervise cooks and other kitchen staff
*Prepare and cook food on a regular basis, or for special guests or functions
*Prepare and cook meals or specialty foods
*Plan menus and ensure food meets quality standards
*Prepare dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances
*Train staff in preparation, cooking and handling of food
